Mr. Underbite and Cucumber-head
Posted in Adam Roth, original, Photoshop, Sci-Fi
I recently created these concept painting for my Senior Group Capstone. I feel like I'm really starting to improve on my digital painting skills, and I'm pretty please with how they came out.
Cucumber-head
Mr. Underbite
Just realized that this may have been subconsciously influenced by the character Bogdan Wolynetz.
Looks just like?...

The Doomed Planet of Krypton
Posted in Adam Roth, After Effects, Sci-Fi
I had a lot of fun with these. This was created using the videocopilot.net tutorials 52 and 53. I did a bit of extra layering to create a populated high-tech world and added an atmosphere. SPOILER ALERT: Kal-el escapes!

CAF Final
Posted in Adam Roth, Maya, original, Photoshop, zBrush
Well folks, all is said and done with the CAF entry. I await official judgement. That said, looking at the other entries, there is a great deal more for me to learn in my final quarters at the Art Institute. I'm proud of what I accomplished in such a short time.

Countdown to CAF deadline!
Posted in Adam Roth, Maya, original, render, WIP
The countdown has begun. Only 28 hours until the Computer Animation Festival (CAF) contest through Indiana Uploaded has its deadline. Here's a teaser image from my animation. I've been pulling an all-nighter and finally need a few hours before I start up again. Things are looking positive so far, and I think I'm on track. But now I sleep.

The majestic Girraphalant...
Posted in Adam Roth, Maya, model, render, WIP, zBrush
I was so thoroughly inspired by "Indie Game", that I really feel a new fervor to become more active online and get my work to more eyes. So without further ado, Here is a current work in progress.
This is an experiment with hand painted textures. The model and sculpt were Zeb Wood's and the original concept of the Elephant/Giraffe hybrid was that of Deb Schoolman, a classmate of mine at the Art Institute. Right now it's a bit shiny, but I was happy with how the texture was able to combine the two skin patterns. I need to re-render it with a slightly higher poly model and tweak the setting a bit. This was painted in zBrush.

Here's my new finished project of a Robotic Gorilla. It still needs more work before it is portfolio-ready. Let me know what you think!
